NEWS UPDATE

01 August 2025

Publishers note

Welcome to this week’s edition of Marine Business News.

We begin with a conversation with the recently appointed Vice President for the APAC region at Dometic. It’s always encouraging to see strong leadership within our sector, and we look forward to seeing the direction this new appointment will take.

John Hogan returns this week with a thoughtful exploration into the digital evolution of marina design—a fascinating topic that blends technology with foresight, and one we’re confident many of our readers will enjoy.

Riviera is making waves again with a fleet of ten luxury motor yachts embarking on delivery voyages to various destinations around the world—a strong reminder of Australia’s global reputation for quality boatbuilding.

Danny Casey has again been out and about, this time combing the Cannes foreshore for industry gems and delivering another enjoyable read.

On the product front, we feature several updates: Power Equipment has secured distribution rights for Eniquest Marine Generators, Lowrance® has introduced the Ghost® X Trolling Motor, and Yanmar has unveiled a new SCR system aimed at reducing emissions.

Readers responded warmly to Magnus Wheatley’s recent story “Azzurra: From the Sports Pages to the Front Pages”, and this week we’re pleased to bring you the next in the series, “Il Moro Di Venezia: Italy Contests the America’s Cup for the very first time.”

Finally, on the environmental front, we look at microplastics in NSW estuaries, Red Cat’s GBR work, we learn about the whale love songs along Australia’s humpback highway, and our dear friend Rebecca Whitlocke shares her insights from the UN Ocean Conference.

My summary does not do justice to all the good news we have this week. So please take a minute to scroll through, and see what else we have.

We do hope you enjoy this week’s news.
