We’re Announcing Our 2020 Excellence In Construction Awards Winners This Wednesday!

Clear a spot at your computer and get ready to celebrate Houston’s top contractors VIRTUALLY with all sorts of wild and crazy guys! That’s right – our 2020 EIC Awards live broadcast is happening on Wednesday, February 3!

  • General Contractor Safety Award
  • Project Under $5 Million
  • Project $5-$15 Million
  • Project $15-$25 Million

Don’t forget, on Friday, February 5, EIC sponsors and committee members will honor our winners with a "we'll-come-to-you" awards parade you can follow along with on Facebook! The fun starts at 10 a.m.!

DID YOU KNOW?

The history of Texas government spans more than 185 years. The first Congress of the Republic of Texas met in October of 1836, in a large dog-trot house located in Columbia-on-the-Brazos (today’s West Columbia). After Texas achieved statehood in 1845, the 20 senators and 66 representatives of the Texas Legislature convened the first regular session, which spanned February 16 - May 13, 1846, in a single-story wood structure at Eighth and Colorado. The state’s first Capitol was completed in 1853, and our current Texas State Capitol opened in 1888.

New Book Aims to Create a Level Playing Field for Subcontractors

As owner and managing partner at the Cromeens Law Firm, and an Amazon best-selling author, Karalynn Cromeens kicked off the new year with a bang. With the launch of The Subcontractor Institute and her book, “Quit Getting Screwed,” she is determined to educate subcontractors on the importance of understanding what they are signing and how to negotiate a fair subcontract. After its first launch week, “Quit Getting Screwed” has already topped the charts. Meanwhile, her curated Mastering the Subcontract course breaks out 20 chapters of everything you need to know to protect yourself and your business on the front end. With more than 80 customizable templates, countless examples of sample language you can use in your business and an “in plain English” subcontract, the bundled course at The Subcontractor Institute will prepare you for the next subcontract you sign!

Find out how Karalynn is helping subcontractors keep from getting screwed. Teams at the Cromeens Law Firm and the Subcontractor Institute are on a mission to level the playing field and educate subcontractors on how to master their subcontracts. “Quit Getting Screwed” is available on Amazon now. For more information about the Subcontractor Institute, visit subcontractorinstitute.com.
