Good morning, members, and welcome to Saturday! How has your week been? Are you ready to kick off a fantastic weekend? We all know that tomorrow is a special day — Mother’s Day! Have you made any plans yet to honour the incredible women in your lives? I (Vella) have decided to treat my amazing mum and aunt to a delightful lunch and a rejuvenating spa date today. Yes, it’s like a little advance celebration of Mother’s Day (to avoid crowds). Who says we must wait for tomorrow to show our love and appreciation? I see their tireless efforts every day, and I believe it’s about time I treat them to a relaxing day out. After all, even superheroes deserve a break. 😉
So, to all the mothers, grandmothers, and motherly figures, I want to be one of the first to wish you a very happy Mother’s Day. You are the pillars of love, strength, and unwavering support. You are the heartbeat of our families, the guardian angels who guide us through life’s journey. I want to honour your unwavering love, warm embrace, and comforting words in today's edition. As the best-selling author Mitch Albom once said, ‘I realised when you look at your mother, you are looking at the purest love you will ever know.’ I couldn’t agree more. So, thank you for your endless love and devotion.
Now, let's kick things off with the answer to yesterday's riddle! So, what was it again?
I only have two backbones and thousands of ribs. What am I?
Did you get it? The answer is, of course, a railroad/train tracks! The two backbones are the steel rails, and the ribs are the sleepers that keep the rails in place. We also accepted those who answered DNA. What creative minds! We must say, this was a tricky one, but a fair few of you got it correct! So, if you did, you'll find a shout-out waiting for you at the bottom of this newsletter.
Now, onto our next segment, 'What Would the Grandkids Say.' Today's term is 'WTPA' or 'Where's the Party At.' This term is often used by kids today to ask where the best place to go out and have fun is. Kids use it on social media platforms like Twitter, Snapchat, and Instagram. So, if you see your grandkids post their OOTD (Outfit of the day) with the caption 'WTPA,' now you know what they're up to!
