Happy Monday, dearest SDC members! Wow — can you believe it’s May already? April flew by so fast (no, not our editor! Haha! 😉), I (Jarred) wouldn’t be surprised to wake up tomorrow to people hanging up their Christmas decorations. How time flies!
Anyway, around the world, this month is associated with many things. In the Southern Hemisphere, it’s usually about preparing for the cooler months by getting your winter clothes out and whipping up some nice, warm dinners. But did you know that May is also known as Get Caught Reading Month? As an occasional bookworm, I love the idea of more people appreciating reading as an activity as vital as other more popular ones out there, like exercising (side note: I’ve checked; there is no Get Caught Exercising Month). Personally, reading has helped me get through some difficult times in my life by providing a means by which my mind can run free and unfettered in many universes of stories, which range from the most epic of tales to the silliest of jokes. Speaking of reading, I’ve started on some of the books you recommended reading in this thread, and if by any chance you’re looking for inspiration to start reading, well, take today’s introduction as your cue! Happy reading, members!
That aside, here’s this week’s first riddle:
I am the beginning of sorrow and the end of sickness. You cannot express happiness without me, yet I am in the midst of crosses. I am always in risk, yet never in danger. You may find me in the sun, but never out of darkness. What am I?
How’s that for a challenge, members? I don’t know about you, but this one sounds straight out of a movie, doesn’t it? As always, don’t forget to post your answers here on the forum, and if you get the answer correct, you’ll earn a shout-out in tomorrow morning’s newsletter! But while you think about the answer…
