Want to hear from us only once a week? Click here to get the Sunday only send.
Good morning, members, and welcome to another beautiful Wednesday! Can you believe we’re halfway through the week already? Time sure does fly when you’re having fun! Speaking of fun, I (Vella) had a great weekend cooking with my sister. She whipped up some delicious dishes while I played sous chef.
Here’s a confession: I completely forgot to include the link to our get-to-know session forum post last Saturday. My apologies! So, here’s your chance to share your own sibling stories. What fun activities did you and your siblings engage in? Share your memories on our forum here.
Enough about me. Let’s move on to today’s activities. We’ve got some great deals from Coles, Woolworths, ALDI, and IGA! Have a browse, and let us know if you snag any bargains. Next up, we have a riddle to tickle your brain cells. Here it goes:
What 4-letter word can be written forward, backwards, or upside down, and can still be read from left to right?
Oooh, is it just me, or is this one particularly tricky? I’m sure you lot can solve it! And when you do, make sure to post your answer on our riddle masters thread here. If you get the answer correct, you’ll get a shout-out in tomorrow’s newsletter!
Without further ado, let’s see what’s happening in Australia and around the world today:
-
‘No way these are in Woolworths.’ Woolies just launched a new food item, and Aussies can't get enough! Will you be trying it?
-

-
Over at Coles, a customer was left outraged after making an X-rated discovery at the checkout. Should Coles remove this from its shelves?
-
Shoppers are racing to their local Kmart to get their hands on this controversial $10 item that will change how you store this popular snack forever. Can you see why people are talking?
-
Oh no! This grocery staple has become the latest victim of inflation, and its producers have spoken up. What do they have to say about their latest
price hike?
-
‘Amazing.’ This woman was quoted $1,000 for a grazing table but decided to make one herself with ALDI products, saving her a whopping $800!
-
Additional cost-of-living relief might not be on the horizon as the government has announced it will be spending its hefty $20 billion surplus on other causes. What does this mean for you?
-
An ANZ customer closed her account after a teller refused her request to withdraw her OWN money. You won’t believe the reason she was given!
-
Attention, Google Chrome users! Google is about to roll out a new privacy feature that will affect all three billion users worldwide. What exactly does it mean for your privacy?
-
A thrifty shopper has called out op shops for selling cheap Kmart items at more than they are worth brand new, claiming that some ‘do it on purpose’.
-
With Australians losing more and more money to scams each year, the federal government has launched a new task force with the help of ASIC and ACCC. But is this enough to protect Aussies?
-
Hollywood star Robert De Niro has broken his silence after heartbreaking news. ‘Deeply distressed.’

Member @Madgery took us on a delicious trip down memory lane. They fondly reminisced about the irresistible Polly Waffles, those chocolate-coated, marshmallow-filled cylindrical wafers. This treat had a storied history, starting in 1947 with Hoadley’s Chocolates, passing through ownership changes, and sadly being discontinued in 2009 due to poor sales. However, it was reported that it might return after nearly 15 years. Do you have any fond memories of Polly Waffles? Join member @Madgery in this nostalgia trip on their forum post. And if you have other memories you’d like to share with us too, post them on our Nostalgia/Yesterday’s Australia forum!
