![]() Week of March 6, 2023![]() Chris Siebenaler This past week, on March 2, HMSL celebrated its 25th birthday. For 25 years, we have been a source of healing for people in the Fort Bend community. Both our hospital and Fort Bend have changed immensely in 25 years. We are no longer a single-tower, 22-bed hospital with 160 employees. The stretch of Highway 59 we sit on is almost unrecognizable compared to 1998. Now, our sprawling campus has three towers and four Medical Office Buildings, employs more than 2,700 people and has 350 beds. A lot has changed in 25 years, but what remains is our commitment to unparalleled safety, quality, service and innovation for every patient and visitor who walks through our doors. It is your hard work and dedication – whether during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the devastation of Hurricane Harvey, or a run-of-the mill workday – that will carry us through another 25 years and beyond. This is a milestone to celebrate – and we will indeed. Please keep an eye out for details on a special event in April or May that will be open to all staff. Thank you for all you do. ![]() New Organizational Development ConsultantPlease welcome Jocelyn Jackson to HMSL as a Senior Organizational Development Consultant. Jocelyn has supported HMSL over the past few months in an interim capacity while providing full-time support to her corporate leadership team client group. You can read more about her here. Dieticians will also be hosting fun activities across from Main Starbucks throughout the month:
We look forward to seeing you and sharing healthy tips throughout this month! ![]() The month of March features multiple departmental celebrations. This week we are highlighting our Registered Dietitians for National Registered Dietician Day on March 8. HMSL is lucky to have six dieticians on staff that do nutrition consults, malnutrition-focused physical exams and provide nutrition education. They are an energetic team that is eager to collaborate across various disciplines. Thank you for all you do! Click here to read more about who is celebrating this month. PATIENT COMPLIMENTS Main 4 East Patient: "It was my first admission. I was really nervous and in so much pain. Every single one of the staff since I got to the ED made me feel safe and every single one was really nice and helpful. I had so many nurses I can't remember all their names but all of them where so nice and helpful made me feel safe and my nerves go away. My doctors, Dr. Chona and Dr. Mahnovel, and all the others doctors (I can't remember all their names) were so nice and helpful. I just want to say thank you so much, I am feeling a lot better. Keep it up! Main SICU: "Dr. McCarty is awesome, and takes his time to explain what he plans to do. The nursing staff at Methodist are beyond wonderful." Sienna ED: "Due to stomach pain, nausea and weakness I went to Houston Methodist Emergency Care Center. They took good care of me and did all the required tests.
