Hot Cocoa Party
The children ended the 2024 school year with a Hot Cocoa Party where they celebrated the holidays with their peers and teachers by listening to songs and stories while enjoying organic hot chocolate with marshmallows, petite savories, and French pastries.
Parent Education Evening
Parent Education Evening will be held on Friday, February 7th at 6:00 pm. Our very own, Ms. Janani, will be speaking about Cultivating Creativity for Humanity’s Future. A number of studies show that creativity in children is dwindling at a rapid rate. This is why it is ever more important to cultivate this for our children. Ms. Janani will address the reasons for the decline and what we can do to protect and nurture it.
This session will be held online and a Zoom link will soon be provided.
Office Hours
OMS is pleased to introduce weekly office hours for all of our environments. Office hours give parents the opportunity to have a 20-minute conversation with your child's educator throughout the school year. Sign up for a slot today.

Primary 1: Wednesdays from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm
Primary 2: Fridays from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm
Elementary: Thursdays from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm (in-person only)

Window WashingIn addition to helping children learn to take care of their environment, window washing enhances fine motor skills; promotes a sense of responsibility and encourages follow-through.

Using a DropperLearning to use a dropper helps the child develop control and coordination; focus of attention; motive of purposeful activity and integration of mind and body.

Primary 1
Constructive TrianglesConstructive triangles show that two triangles form quadrilaterals when equal sides are matched and a preparation to show that all plane geometric figures constructed with straight lines are made with triangles.

Geometric CabinetThe geometric cabinet shows the discrimination of form and different geometrical shapes that can later be used in mathematical and geometric equations.

Primary 2
CollagesCollages are art and craft works that involve selecting, assembling, and pasting materials together. This visual art also develops spatial awareness.

BellsBells help children learn auditory discrimination of pitch, develop keenness of perception and prepare for musical education.

Elementary
SynonymsThis work helps the child understand that words have numerous meanings based on context and syntax when read by a word itself, sentence, or phrase. This prepares the child for advanced reading analysis work, which makes the child a total reader and this is the ultimate goal of the language area in both Primary and Elementary!

GardeningThe school's garden is blooming! Elementary children are once again harvesting vegetables and using them to prepare meals.

Picture Day
Picture day will be held on Wednesday, February 26th. If your child is absent, there will be a picture retake day on Thursday, March 6th.
Parent Education Evening
The parent education evening will be held on Friday, February 7th at 6:00 pm.
School Closures
School will be closed on Friday, February 14th for staff development and Monday, February 17th in recognition of Presidents' Day.
