Issue 806 Thursday, 23 May, 2024
This week the Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE) was held in Melbourne with 65 Western Australian operators joining Tourism WA to promote our state as a world-class holiday destination.
As Australia's largest annual tourism trade event, ATE brings together around 1,500 sellers and 700 buyer delegates from across Australian tourism businesses, travel media and the global tourism industry, to foster valuable trade and media connections, and drive new opportunities for collaboration and business growth. We were especially thrilled to have nine trade-ready Aboriginal Tourism Operators from WA attend ATE24 to showcase their unique tourism products, alongside 10 operators from Tourism WA’s new Trade Ready Introduction Program (TRIP). The three-year TRIP program supports and provides financial assistance to operators that are ready to expand their business into interstate and international markets, and it was wonderful to see the first group of TRIP
operators join us as part of the Tourism WA delegation. It was fantastic to attend ATE this year and meet with industry, buyers, sellers, airlines, and other important partners. I look forward to seeing the positive outcomes for WA industry operators which arise out of these important discussions. Aside from ATE, Australian art has been another focus this week, with the announcement of the TIME • RONE exhibition being secured for WA as a worldwide exclusive.
Acclaimed street artist RONE will host an immersive art exhibition from July to September at The Art Gallery of Western Australia (AGWA), proudly supported by Tourism WA, with the showcase expected to attract over 100,000 patrons. I hope you all have a chance to enjoy this world-famous exhibition when it arrives in Perth this July.
Warm regards,
Australian Tourism Exchange 2024

Thirty delegates participated, and the itineraries encompassed a range of Western Australia’s most popular destinations from all five tourism regions. Tourism WA also highlighted road trips at a State Tourism Organisation showcase, attended by other state tourism bodies, Tourism Australia and close to 100 media outlets from around the world.
