School Spotlight: Sierra High School Utilizes Community Partnerships to Enhance Program Impact

Jeff Greene, Get Focused Stay Focused Coordinator at Sierra High School, recently met with Academic Innovations staff to discuss the success of their program and the lessons students take away from their time in the class. 

“We bring in different community members. We have insurance agents, we have police officers, we have people that work at the district office or the elementary schools,” said Greene when discussing community involvement. “They get to sit and have a 20-minute mock interview, and every kid, every freshman goes through that experience at the end of the semester.”

These kinds of experiences help enhance student success by ensuring they are exposed to the realities of their chosen field and ensure they receive the skills necessary to successfully complete a job interview.
