Town Halls Begin This Week
Important town halls are taking place this week with local leadership and system leadership. A town hall with Dr. Marc Boom, HM President and CEO, takes place today, Monday, Jan. 30 at 2:30 p.m. virtually. You can register for that by clicking here. Then, on Tuesday, Jan. 31, the first of six town halls with CEO Chris Siebenaler and Senior Leadership takes place at 7 a.m. in the Brazos Conference Center. Astros Visit HMSL
HMSL recently got the chance to surprise patients with a visit from our friends the Houston Astros. Shortstop David Hensley, pitcher Seth Martinez and catcher Korey Lee visited the Spine Center, 4 West and HMOSM. They were accompanied by Orbit and the Shooting Stars. As they made their rounds, the 2022 World Series Trophy was on display in the Main Atrium. We are proud to be the official health care provider of the world champions and thankful for our strong partnership, which has stretched more than two decades. As a reminder, the Astros’ home opener is March 30. Go Astros!
Shining Star Award
The Professional Development Council recently awarded its second Shining Star Award for 2022. Elba Aceves, an environmental services representative, was awarded for her kind spirit and uplifting care to patients. Click here to read her nominations. Congratulations, Elba!
Healthy Directions Winner
Congratulations to OR Services inventory coordinator Rommel Reyes who is the winner of the most recent Virgin Pulse drawing. He won $500 for the points he earned during the health track downtime from Oct. 19 through Dec. 31. Read more about HealthyDirections health tracks.
Heart Health Booth This Week
You can earn 500 Virgin Pulse points by visiting Employee Wellness this Wednesday, Feb. 1 across from Main Starbucks for a heart health event. There will be mix of helpful information, activities (with prizes) and food samples to kick off National Heart Health Month. Then, wear red on Friday, Feb. 3rd for Go Red Day! Take a selfie or group photo and email it here for an additional 500 points.
W-2 Information
W-2 forms for the 2022 tax year are now available online for those who opted to receive the forms electronically. Click here for details on obtaining yours. If you didn’t consent to online distribution, you will receive a hard copy of your W-2, which will be mailed by Jan. 31 to the address you have on file in MARS.
I CARE Recharge Begins Feb. 6
This year's I CARE Recharge theme is “Living our I CARE Values through Connecting with Others.” It begins Monday, Feb. 6, and runs through Monday, Feb. 27. This year, we’ll have employees take part in a creative activity that shows how you and your co-workers demonstrate I CARE values. Stay tuned for details!

You can now celebrate your birthday and HM anniversary while in virtual meetings. Similar to the career milestone virtual backgrounds shared last fall, we’ve now made more of them to celebrate these other special days during the year. Click here to download them.
