ALL-IN COMPOSTING BINS START TO BE DELIVERED ON APRIL 21
Starting in May, all LRS residential customers within the Northbrook corporate limits will participate in the new All-In Composting program. As part of this initiative, a 35-gallon composting cart with a yellow lid will be delivered starting on April 21 to all households that did not opt out of the program in March. Carts will be delivered curbside and are for year-round disposal of yard waste and food scraps. Curbside composting collection begins Wednesday, May 7, 2025, and will take place every Wednesday through November 30. From December 1 through March 31, pick-up will shift to every other Wednesday. If you have more material than your compost cart can hold, you have options: Use approved paper yard waste bags (no food scraps) with a collection sticker from authorized retailers or Village Hall. Use a personal reusable can (metal or plastic, max 32 gallons) labeled with a free YARD WASTE ONLY sticker from Village Hall, plus a collection sticker. Or, upgrade to Subscription (Enhanced) Composting for added capacity.
