For today’s ‘Yesterday’s Australia’ segment, we have a lovely memory from our dear member @Net. ‘My husband and I worked in Perth City in the ’70s. Every Friday lunch was our once-a-week treat to meet at Coles Cafeteria and have fish, chips and salad or steak and salad, which was his bonus week. The lines were so long to wait to get to order, so we pre-ordered our meals, and it was ready for us as we arrived. This was the best way to beat the long lines. The staff were so great and always greeted you with a smile. Good memories.’
Aww, how sweet! I can imagine how nice it would be to have a little treat like this every week. Long before fast-food chains arrived in Australia, Coles Cafeteria was the place to go for a delicious and affordable meal. Good memories, indeed! Thank you for sharing this lovely memory with us, @Net.

How stunning is this photo of a sunset shared by @GenEllen? They posted this photo in our photography forum with the caption: ‘The stunning sunset we are lucky enough to have from our front yard; the view is out over the Gulf of St Vincent in South Australia. No filters, just nature at her finest.’
Oh my, what a view! It’s like looking at a piece of art. The pinkish, orange and yellow colours blend so perfectly. The sunsets in South Australia are definitely something special. Thank you @GenEllen, for sharing this gorgeous photo with us!

‘Da capo’ is an Italian musical term that means ‘from the beginning’ (literally, ‘from the head’). It is often abbreviated as D.C. The term is a directive to repeat the previous part of music, often used to save space, and thus is an easier way of saying to repeat the music from the beginning.
