Labor Day is a federal holiday to recognize the social and economic achievements of American workers. The long weekend provides an opportunity for workers across America to enjoy time off, spend time with loved ones, and celebrate their accomplishments. Thank you for the work you do here at HMSL. Unparalleled Connections for an Unparalleled Future

These in-person sessions are led by senior leadership and dig into the personal connections made throughout their journeys. Sessions at HMSL will run Sept. 13 through Sept. 29. Welcome New Physicians
HMSL is excited to welcome two new physicians to our campus. Dr. Felix Thomas joins Houston Methodist Cardiology Associates and Dr. Muhammad Taimur Malik joins Houston Methodist Sugar Land Neurology Associates. Please welcome them as you see them!
Now Accepting Applications
Registration for the winter cohort of HM's graduate nurse residency program is now open through Sept. 20. Nurses with less than six months of experience are eligible to apply. Please share this link with your family and friends or anyone you know graduating soon that may be a good fit for HMSL!
Bleni is Open For Business!
HMSL's new smoothie vending machine is open for business! Bleni serves up freshly-made smoothies in a variety of flavors at a price point of $5.15. Visit the machine on the 2nd floor of Main Pavilion near the Starbucks. Thank you to the Food and Nutrition team for making this tasty option available to our campus. Enjoy!
Employee Choir to Sing at Astros Game
More than two dozen HMSL employees are a part of the Houston Methodist Employee Choir, put together by the Center For Performing Arts Medicine. They recently performed the National Anthem at a Space Cowboys game (seen above), and this Sunday, September 11, they will perform the National Anthem at the Astros game. It is an honor for the Astros to include our system's employee choir on such a solemn day in American history. As always, you can buy tickets at a discounted rate via YouDecide.
Get Active and Give Back
There are a lot of upcoming ways to get active while giving back. Take a look at the events below and see which one suits you:
Komen Houston Race For the Cure: October 1. The biggest gathering of breast cancer advocates, volunteers, survivors, and supporters in Houston area. Join Team Houston Methodist.
Step Out For Diabetes: October 8. Register here to walk with Team Sugar Land.
Heart Walk: November 12. Join one of the teams led by coaches at HMSL.
If runs and walks are fun for you, please consider joining the HMSL Run Club. It is open to all employees at all experience levels. You can email Lucille Kalu, who leads the group, for more information.
