Summer 2026
As we step into summer, there is a sense of energy and optimism across our community. Sedbergh has been enjoying glorious sunshine, providing the perfect backdrop to a busy and enjoyable season.
One of the highlights of recent weeks has been our two 1525 Society lunches, held in both London and Sedbergh. We were delighted to welcome Major General Jonathan Shaw as the new President of the 1525 Society and look forward to his support over the years ahead.
We were also excited to launch the new and improved Sedbergh Association Platform – SA Connect – the best way to stay in touch with fellow OS, staff, parents and friends of the School. The platform offers the opportunity to reconnect with friends, grow your professional network, join groups, discover events, and explore mentoring opportunities, all while sharing the opportunities and experiences that make our community so special.
Looking ahead, there is much to enjoy over the summer months. A county cricket match will once again be held in Sedbergh, alongside the return of our International Summer School and the Summer Courses, which bring visitors and activity from across the world to our campus.
We wish everyone an enjoyable summer and look forward to all that the season has to offer.

Northampton Saints emerged victorious in a ‘proper final’ as they overcame Exeter Chiefs to secure the Gallagher PREM title for the second time in three years, according to winning Director of Rugby, OS Phil Dowson (H 93-00).
OS Shooting Success at Bisley and Blair Atholl
Old Sedberghians enjoyed success across two major shooting weekends, representing both Scotland and England in the prestigious inter-country competitions at Bisley and Blair Atholl.

Why Lady Joyce Singleton-Booth Chooses to Support Sedbergh School
Lady Joyce Singleton-Booth’s connection to Sedbergh began through her late husband, OS Sir Christopher Booth (Powell House, 1937–42), whose affection for the School lasted a lifetime. Today, Lady Joyce continues to support Sedbergh School as part of his enduring legacy. We spoke to her about what inspires her giving.

Lancashire Cricket Returns to Sedbergh for Major One-Day Cup Clash
On Tuesday 21st July 2026, Sedbergh School will once again host a day of county cricket as Lancashire Cricket take on Surrey CCC in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup.
OS Map Golf Competition Friday 7th August 2026
You are invited to the OS Map Golf Competition on 7th August. The competition was started in 1955 by the Yorkshire branch of the OS Club and the trophy is an embroidered map of the local Sedbergh area.
