Sunday Edition
Well hello there! Fancy seeing you here on a Sunday morning. I hope you’re doing mighty fine, and if you aren’t, then I know exactly what you need to feel a little bit better… To read the rest of this newsletter. 😉 Okay, yes, I (Maddie) know that is not my finest joke, but cut me some slack, I’m not a Dad! 😉 In all seriousness, I’m very excited about this morning's newsletter. We have a stellar lineup for you today, so let’s dive straight into it! First things first, let’s take a look at this week’s quote of the week.
‘A person that values you, wouldn’t ever put themselves in a position to lose you.’
I’m not sure what inspired me to put a different type of quote in this week’s Sunday newsletter, but I just felt like maybe some of you needed to read this. Remember that with every relationship, there are ebbs and flows, but the people who truly deserve to be in your life would never put themselves in a position to lose you. As the very wise member @aquarius123 shared with us in our ‘best piece of advice’ competition: ‘People come into your life for a reason, season or lifetime. When you work out what it is, you know exactly what to do!’
Now then, what happened across Australia and around the world this week?
-
Today, we have a very special member spotlight of the wonderful member @Ricci. Ricci’s story has truly touched us and when I first read it, I cried. I do want to pop in a content warning for all of the parents out there who have been through child loss.
-
Your Say Sunday: Do you think the sentiment of respecting your elders has been lost on the new generation? Have your say here.
-
This week, we saw some awesome deals from Coles, Woolies, ALDI and IGA, including Häagen-Dazs Ice Cream Tubs for $6.25, 750g of Primo Short Cut Bacon Rashers for $7.75, and some bedroom and bathroom essentials. You can still get these deals today!
-
These ‘old phones’ are now worth a fortune, with some models selling for up to $4000. Do you have one lying (not laying 😉) around your
house?
-
This is not a drill! Shoppers are rushing to get their hands on this $50 ALDI Special Buy that was a sell-out last year, so you will have to be quick!
-
The Australian Federal Police has warned Australians over the age of 60 are being targeted by an online scam that then forces them to become drug mules. Please be careful, members.
-
Good news! Woolworths announced a major change that could save you money on your next shop. This one’s a game-changer.
-
An Aussie woman was criticised online after complaining about a $1000 fine she believes she shouldn’t have to pay. Do you think she should have
to pay every dollar?
-
Supermarket trolleys ‘of the future’ are here, and are leaving shoppers divided. Do we really need technology like this to replace more jobs?
-
This story is quite horrifying, but it’s a great example of why you should never flash your lights to warn other drivers about the cops. Do you flash yours?
-
A stylish shopper turned heads for all the wrong reasons thanks to the 'embarrassing detail' on a popular $9 fashion item she bought from Kmart.
-
Cadbury is all the rave this week after they released a mouth-watering $20 item exclusive to Coles. Get in quick, folks!
-
Scam alert: Hundreds of Aussie motorists have become victims of this awful toll scam. Here’s the text you need to beware of.
-
And finally, it wouldn’t be a Sunday morning without a good laugh! And this joke posted by member @phantomrose101 certainly delivers! Click here to read the joke.
And that, ladies and gents, is a wrap of the week that was! Another big week, eh? The weeks just seem to get bigger and better as the year goes on! Now, we have plenty more in store for you below including a very interesting trivia question (we hope you know your geography), a very funny ‘Yesterday’s Australia’ segment thanks to member @Dingo, and a gorgeous picture of the day thanks to member @Charmy.
If that's not enough, how about a game or two? Check out our Word Pairs and Abbreviation Game. Of course, we also have our classic games, including Word Association Game, Rearrange, Add or Subtract Word Game! Keep a Word, Drop a Word Game, and Can you name 5? As well as our Sudoku puzzles, OzGrid and OzWord. And our card games, including Solitaire and Blackjack.
And last but not least, don’t forget to enter our ‘Your Favourite Christmas Memory!’ Simply tell us your favourite Christmas memories for your chance to win a $100 voucher to the supermarket of your choice (Coles, Woolies, ALDI or IGA!).
As always, members, stay safe and happy reading!
