We’re sure you haven’t, but in case you forgot – elections are on the way!

It can be a pretty busy period of the academic year, so while it may seem overwhelming, we’re here to reassure you it’s much simpler than it seems.

So, here’s your reminder of what to expect!

On Monday 3rd March, join LUSU and your candidates for the Full-Time Officers for Candidate Questions this election period.

It’s the perfect chance to ask the candidates your burning questions and get to know more about who you could be voting for.

Trees 4 Votes 🌳

Fancy your hand at planting a tree on campus?

Join us today, Thursday 27th February from 13:00-15:00 as we begin to plant some of the trees from last year’s election periods!

Each year here at LUSU, we make a promise: for every 20 votes received in the elections, we will plant one tree. This year? We’re planting 329 trees! At their full size, 329 trees will absorb around 8.225 tonnes of C02 in a year, which is equal to 58,791,994.3 kilometres of driving.

So come along to the ECOHub as we start planting those promises – no experience is needed, so don’t worry if you’ve never planted a tree before. LUSU Green are here to help!

Attention final-year undergrads 📣

Because now is your chance to share your experiences and make a difference with NSS 2025.

The National Student Survey (NSS) is a major independent survey undertaken by final-year undergraduates at universities across the UK. It takes about 10 minutes, and gives the University, and us here at LUSU, the information we need to improve student experiences. It also helps prospective students make their decision on where to study!

Accelerating Action 🤍

As part of the She Calls the Shot campaign, the Women in Business Society – alongside LUMS societies – is hosting an International Women’s Day event on Wednesday 5th March.

Repair Cafe ☕️

Last week, LUSU Green held their termly repair café in collaboration with the wonderful Sewing Café Lancaster.

An incredibly successful event, LUSU Green put the café on once a term, offering you the opportunity to repair your clothes rather than throwing them out, gain some practical skills, and save money!

Every year, at the beginning of May, Lancaster University faces off against York University for a weekend of rivalry, competition, and sport. And last year, we won. 😉

This year, starting 2nd May, Roses is being hosted at York – but that doesn’t mean Roses aren’t still RED!

Supper Club is back this term, in collaboration with the university – Supper Club offers you a free hot meal to get you through. It takes place every Thursday night of term in Marketplace – but places are limited and pre-registration is essential.
