School Spotlight: Wheatland High School Models the Success of the Career Choices Program

Executive Director of Students Services, Schandia Edwards, and Co-Executive Director of RTAP, Carol Keiser, recently discussed their long-standing history with Career Choices and their program’s success at Wheatland High School.

“I think the cool thing is the non-quantifiable data I always use,” said Edwards, when speaking on the program's long-lasting impact on her own daughter. “The mock interview that's run through Get Focused, Stay Focused, my daughter really used in her senior year for all of her scholarship interviews.”

As a core curriculum, Wheatland utilizes Get Focused Stay Focused—known as Pirate Focus on their campus—as a stepping stone to their many CTE pathway choices. 

Wheatland's solid planning and implementation has earned their team gold medal status every year since the inception of their GFSF program five years ago.
