The Western Australian Association for Mental Health (WAAMH) invited presenters to submit abstracts and identified keynote speakers for engaging oral presentations and workshops, to be delivered at this hybrid conference.

Hosted by WAAMH with support from the WA Mental Health Commission and Lotterywest, the conference will be held in-person at Perth's Optus Stadium and virtually with interactive streaming and online networking on 7-8 November 2022, with the theme, 'Working together: a shared purpose'.

The program’s four core streams sessions are inspired by the six trauma-informed principles – safety, trust, empowerment, collaboration, choice and respect for diversity – to explore a holistic look at mental health, sharing ideas and learning from both each other and industry leaders.

The program sessions promise to deliver thought-provoking, audience discussion, involvement and activities to explore practical and real implications of mental health and wellbeing in the workplace, sector and community settings.

PROGRAM DAY ONE – MONDAY, 7 NOVEMBER

PROGRAM DAY ONE – TUESDAY, 8 NOVEMBER

We have aimed to showcase a diverse and dynamic range of presenters and topics representing a range of viewpoints, experiences and research, to enrich the learning, expression of ideas and collaboration at the conference.

Perspectives from people working in clinical, community, corporate, government, not-for-profit and academic settings, as well as the voices of lived and living experience are all featured in the program, from various areas of the state and country.

Presentations will incorporate one of several of the trauma-informed principles in each stream, underpinned by sentiments of recovery and hope.

The abstract submissions shaping the final program encompassed the principles and allowed us to further identify and group together common themes, topics and complementary angles in the final product, to represent a range of voices.
