PROTECT YOURSELF FROM HOLIDAY SHOPPING SCAMS

As the holiday season begins, scams targeting residents are on the rise. Sophisticated phone and text scams can be hard to spot. Protect yourself by trusting your instincts. Hang up or delete suspicious messages, never share personal or account information, and avoid gift card payments. Don’t click unknown links and monitor your bank and credit card statements for unusual activity. If you suspect a scam or have been targeted, contact the Northbrook Police Department at 847-564-2060. Stay alert, informed, and help keep the season safe for everyone!
