Saturday Edition
Hey, hey, it’s Saturday! Welcome to another weekend edition of our newsletter. Gosh, we sure do love weekends around here. It’s a time to relax, recharge and maybe even do a little bit of exploring. How are you all feeling today? Do you have any big plans? I (Vella) sure do! I’m going to take my partner out for a nice dinner tomorrow night to celebrate her birthday. I’m so excited to surprise her. Not that I’m giving anything away, but I think she’s going to love it. I really love surprising my loved ones. There’s something special about making someone’s day or seeing them smile. I know it sounds cheesy, but it’s true! ☺️ How about you? What are some of the things you like to do to make your loved ones happy? Share them in our forum thread here.
Now, enough about me; let’s move on to today’s activities! To start things off, let’s take a look at the answer to yesterday’s riddle. So, what was it again?
What gets longer the more you cut it?
And the answer is… a trench or a hole! We also accepted those who answered wound or fruit peel! Aren't you a creative bunch! 😉 Oh my, this one had quite a few of you stumped! But don't worry, there's always next time. If you managed to get the answer correct, then you'll spot a shout-out just for you at the bottom of this newsletter!
Let’s move on to our next segment, ‘What Would the Grandkids Say?’ Today’s term is ‘drip’. Drip is a term used to describe someone's fashion sense or style. When you say someone has 'good drip', it means they dress well and have a strong sense of style. This term is often used to describe people who are always well-dressed or look put together. So, next time you see your grandkids looking sharp, be sure to tell them they've got a good drip!
Oh, and one more thing before we get into the news! Check out today’s ALDI Special Buys! There are some great deals this week, so don’t forget to take a look!

For today’s ‘Yesterday’s Australia’ segment, we have a lovely memory from our dear member @Suzanne rose. ‘I remember my cousins and I all fitting into a car exactly like this. We would head to the beach with a few of us sitting in the back with the back open. We would sing songs loudly like Long Haired Lover From Liverpool, Daddy Cool, Brand New Key or Seasons in the Sun. We would wave at cars when we were stopped at lights or cars driving past, including the police. We would then spend the day at the beach, swimming and laying on our black beach towels, getting burnt and eating watermelon. Oh, those beautiful long summer days.’
Oh, we love hearing about fun memories like this! It sounds like you and your cousins had a blast together. We can imagine the laughter and singing filling the car as you all headed to the beach. Those long summer days spent swimming, tanning and eating watermelons sound like some of the best days ever. Thank you, Suzanne, for sharing your memories with us!

A guy is feeling terrible and goes to the doctor.

Australia has three official time zones: Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST), Australian Central Standard Time (ACST), and Australian Western Standard Time (AWST) (AWST). Our time zones correspond to the locations of our three main longitudinal locations: Eastern Australia at GMT +10 hours (4 states and 1 territory), Central Australia at GMT +9.5 hours (1 state and 1 territory), and Western Australia (with 1 state of the same name) at GMT +8 hours. However, due to Daylight Savings Time, we have more time zones in the summer (5 in total) because not all states and territories participate.
