Tuesday Edition
Goooooood Morning, members! How are you all doing on this gorgeous Tuesday morning? Good, we hope! Us? We are doing very well, thank you. Jon, April and I (Maddie) are up in Brisbane for the week and my oh my, they do not call Queensland the ‘Sunshine State’ for nothing, do they? We also have the lovely Vella on leave for the week, so I’ll be taking over the morning newsletters. Aren’t you a lucky bunch? 😉
I know Vella usually says good morning in a different language every morning, but I thought I’d switch things up a bit. Instead, this week I’m going to give you one thing I’m grateful for each day. Maybe you can give it a try too? Today, I’m very grateful for the lovely barista that made my morning coffee. Not only did he make it very tasty, but he was also so friendly at the same time. It made my day. I’m sure he’s not reading this, but I’m grateful for that interaction. What are you grateful for this morning?
Now, enough about my ‘random’ moment I’m grateful for. I know why you’re all here and it’s to get the answer to yesterday’s riddle! Here’s a reminder of what it was…
What is so delicate that even saying its name will break it?
The answer? Silence! And my goodness, there were a fair few riddle masters who managed to crack this one. I could not get this one right for the life of me. For some strange reason, my brain was convinced the answer was a ‘plate’. And that is why my name will not be featured in the riddle masters shout-out section at the bottom of this newsletter… but for those of you who actually got the answer correct, yours will! So stick around!
Now, what's happening in Australia and around the world today?
-
The biggest change in 100 years is coming to Violet Crumble chocolate bars and let’s just say we don’t think anyone was expecting this.
-

-
The value of these specific Australian coins have skyrocketed since the Queen passed away.
-
A major change is coming to the ‘iconic’ Aussie food brands Four’n Twenty, Patties and Lean Cuisine, and we’re no too sure how we feel about it.
-
A clever mum has transformed a Kmart item in a very impressive way. We think the grandkids will love this one!
-
A tourist has been fined $671 for eating ice cream on the side of a Roman fountain.
-
Australia’s organisation ‘queen’ has revealed the best way to deep clean your fridge in three easy steps.
-
Outrage has been sparked online after a woman was caught in an ‘illegal’ bikini, but what do you think?
-
A viral video that was captured in a Woolies shows a man climbing the shelves, refusing to come down even after police were
called.
-
A Current Affair host Tracey Grimshaw broke down on-air this week: ‘Going to take a moment.’
-
Looking for something cheap, easy, and healthy to make? You can’t go past this one-pot sausage stew!
-
And finally, a note left on a car windscreen from a parent of a child with autism has left the internet divided. ‘Horrible to go through.’
And that’s a wrap of your Tuesday news folks. Hopefully, not a bad way to start your Tuesday. The good news is, the entertainment does not end here. There’s still plenty of ‘good stuff’ below, including a really interesting trivia question (which surprised me) and a very funny ‘Yesterday’s Australia’ segment thanks to member @Incorrect/9451.
Also, be sure to check out today's Sudoku puzzles, OzGrid and OzWord, and our Keep a Word, Drop a Word game for some fun brain training. And why don’t you try our other games, such as Solitaire, Blackjack, and Mahjong. Enjoy!
As always, members, stay safe and happy reading!
PS Did you know millions of eligible Australians are set to receive cash back from their health insurer, while others will be slapped with a 2.70% premium increase? If you’re over the age of 65, you could be paying up to $174 more for the same health cover. Compare and save before October 1.*
