Dear ,

Happy New Year from Gordon-Conwell! Last Sunday our pastor challenged us to be more mindful of the reality of God’s presence with us—not just overall in our lives but in each minute. None of us know what we will be given to enjoy, or called on to do or endure, in any of the moments of this year. What we do know is that we will be free and empowered to live every minute with joy and hope because of God’s gracious and mighty presence. Imagine the impact and witness an entire year really lived in that light!!

This month we spotlight Will Kautz, a remarkable alumnus who was blessed in surprising ways after his graduation, but also called on to endure a number of deeply difficult things. I think you’ll be inspired by learning a bit about his life and work. We also draw your attention to some alumni and faculty books that have recently won awards and invite you to participate in one of the three upcoming travel courses. You can see all these below.

Lastly, I encourage you to take a look at our 2022 Annual Report video and webpage to catch up on some of what happened at the seminary last year. We are so grateful for God’s faithfulness to us. I am particularly thankful to have had the opportunity to meet so many alumni in person last year and look forward to more of that in the coming year. You deeply inspire me with your creative work for the Kingdom!

God's grace and peace to you in all the minutes of your coming year,

Laura M. Carmer, MACO '93
Director of Alumni Engagement

New Books by Faculty & Alumni

Last fall, Dr. Gina Zurlo, Co-Director of the Center for the Study of Global Christianity, published Global Christianity: A Guide to the World's Largest Religion from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe. This book presents the latest research on the state of Christianity globally and includes at-a-glance charts and maps.

Many other faculty and alumni received awards for books they published in 2022. You can see all of these books here. You may want to catch up on all of our Alumni Authors, too!
