During this time, the mission is to spread awareness about how important it is to protect our eyes and skin from the side effects of UV rays. Doctors at Houston Methodist recommend wearing sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 and reapplying it every two hours and after swimming or sweating. They also say to wear protective clothes, wide-brimmed hats and UVA- and UVB-blocking sunglasses, and limit sun exposure. Ultraviolet rays can damage skin in about 15 minutes. The nurses, doctors and technicians gave me excellent care from the time that I was admitted to when I was discharged. Please give my appreciation to the Houston Methodist Emergency Care Center in Sienna for their patient and excellent follow up with their referral and transfer arrangements to Houston Methodist Sugar Land. I realized they had difficulty getting into my veins, but it was not their fault, it was my condition. I didn't realize I was so ill and frail at the time. So my compliments to the doctor and all the nursing staff at Sienna. Thank you all for the excellent care that I received during my stay at HMSL." Main 6 West Patient: "The care I received was excellent. From the ladies who cleaned to the nurses that had to put up with me to the doctors care. Thank you for treating me with respect and care. This was my first time in the hospital. I was very scared. Everyone helped me through. Again thank you." Childbirth Center Patient: "The labor and delivery nurses were amazing and really made my birth experience enjoyable. The anesthesiologist was also great. He actually checked back in to make sure I was good and came back twice quite promptly when I needed a re-dose." IMPORTANT DATES Friday, July 21: HMSL Blood Drive. Click here to register.
