Much effort in recent months has been directed toward the development of a new artist facility in Manjimup. The 'Hub' is touted to be for Great Art, Creations & Collections from the Manjimup Shire.

Collie Art Prize

You can start preparing now

Their exhibition for 2023 has just been announced.

Beginning on March 4, 2023, the eight-week CAP2023 is sure to be a hit with the creatives of Australia. Entries open Tuesday, October 11, and will close Friday, December 9. The Prize gives artists the chance to reflect on “Identity”.

CAP2023 has a prize pool of $67,500, including the much coveted first prize of $50,000 (sponsored by Collie & Districts Community Bank Branch, South32, Synergy and Coal Miners' Welfare Board).

Funding

 

Quick Response Grants

Quick Response Grants are intended to assist regional artists, arts organisations and communities to take up professional or skills development opportunities, or respond to small project opportunities that arise at short notice.

Each round closes at the end of the month.

They are managed by Regional Arts WA.

You can ask for up to $3k for an individual or $5k for an organisation.

It's essential you speak to the project officer before applying to check the eligibility of your idea.

National Association for the Visual Arts

NAVA is the peak body for visual arts practice in Australia.

Even if you don't become a member they have a lot of great resources on their website. 

When writing grants it always helps improve the professionalism of your application if you refer to NAVA pay rates as a guide for how much you will pay artists for workshops etc.

Rob reminds us that age is no barrier to creative rigour, curiosity and discipline.
