Support for WA agrifood and beverage businesses 

Are you a Western Australian agribusiness or food and beverage manufacturer planning capital expenditure or expansion projects to grow, relocate or diversify your business?

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development's Value Add Investment Grants (Round Three) – Feasibility program offers grants between $15,000 and $100,000 (excluding GST) to help you assess the viability of your capital projects. This funding can support feasibility studies and other activities, giving you the confidence to make informed investment decisions.

Here's why you should apply:

  • Considering an expansion or new capabilities? A feasibility study can help you determine if it makes financial sense.
  • Grants are available on a rolling basis until 30 June 2025. Apply when you're ready.
  • Get your application in by 10 June 2024 for mid-June assessments.

Before you apply:

  • Ensure you meet the eligibility criteria for applicants and projects.
  • Review the program details and application process.

Opportunities for WA innovators and entrepreneurs 

Do you have a great idea for an agrifood business or an innovative idea to solve an issue in the WA agricultural industry?

Apply now for one of three Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) support packages to participate in Curtin Ignition 2024.

DPIRD is proud to support innovation in our agrifood and primary industries by funding three support packages in Curtin Ignition 2024.

Valued at over $3,000, each support package is open to WA students, individuals or businesses with an innovative idea that relates to our agrifood, fibre, fisheries, and forestry industries.

Curtin Ignition is an ideal platform for aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators to develop and trial business ideas, providing you with an intensive week of workshops, mentoring sessions, and clinics with industry.

Applications from indigenous, new, and aspiring entrepreneurs with limited experience in starting new businesses are strongly encouraged.

Applications close 5pm Friday 5 July 2024.  Curtin Ignition runs from Sunday 1 to Friday 6 September 2024.

Apply now for WA Export Awards

Interested in applying for the 2024 Western Australian (WA) Export Awards? Applications are now open and close on Friday 14 June 2024. Invest and Trade WA encourages WA exporters to compete in one or more of the 13 categories, which showcase the State’s diverse range of exports.  

The annual program acknowledges the success of WA exporters and their achievements in the international market. This year celebrates 36 years of recognising the excellence of WA companies and their contribution to Western Australia’s prosperity.  

The Awards program operates as a 2-tier process and is run in partnership with Austrade. All winners will automatically advance as finalists to the Australian Export Awards in Canberra, on Wednesday 20 November, to vie for the National award in their category. Invest and Trade WA will support all national finalists to attend the National Awards. Austrade have shared a video of their application workshop which can be accessed here.
