Fall 2021 Blackboard Course Repository Sites now in Canvas Blackboard content from courses taught between Fall 2018 and Fall 2021 are now available as Blackboard Repository sites within Canvas. You may choose to edit these sites then copy them into your Banner-driven Canvas course sites once they’ve been created or use them to copy pieces of content into your Canvas sites. We will begin working on migrating Spring 2022 Blackboard course content to Canvas Repository sites after the semester has ended. Blackboard Community sites updateCommunity sites that were requested to be transferred from Blackboard are currently in the process of being imported into Canvas. Leaders who submitted requests will receive an email with further instructions in the coming weeks. All students now have Canvas accessAll students can now access Canvas and will be enrolled in a self-guided tutorial site. New ways to access CanvasCanvas can now be accessed through the DORI Quick link or by visiting https://duq.edu/canvas. Prepare for Blackboard's endBlackboard will become unavailable to all faculty, staff, and students on Monday, June 27. No course, community, or any other sites or their content can be accessed from this date forward. Please carefully review the information below to ensure you are ready. Back up your Blackboard course files by June 15While Blackboard course sites from Fall 2018 through Spring 2022 will be copied to Canvas, we always recommend having your course files saved outside of the learning management system. If you do not already have your course files backed up, please do so by June 15, 2022. Ensure your previous courses are in CanvasAs mentioned above, all Blackboard content from courses taught between Fall 2018 and Fall 2021 are now available as Repository sites within Canvas. Be sure to review your list of Unpublished courses to ensure you are not missing any sites. Please report any missing sites to Educational Technology by May 23, 2022. Get ready to teach in CanvasBeginning in the Summer 2022 semester, all courses will be taught from Canvas. Read below to learn how you can be ready to teach your next course in Canvas. Build your sandbox courseBanner-driven course sites will be created for each course closer to each semester start date. We advise all faculty to begin building their courses for Summer 2022 and beyond early by using Sandbox sites, which can be easily copied to future Canvas courses. Complete Canvas trainingEducational Technology highly recommends that all faculty complete Canvas training before teaching their first course in Canvas. Trainings are offered in self-guided, face-to-face, and webinar formats. Face-to-Face & WebinarsFace-to-face and webinar training schedules are released monthly. Self-Guided TutorialsAll faculty and staff have been enrolled in a course called Canvas Instructor Self-Guided Tutorial. Completing this course will provide you with all the basics you will need to get started building and teaching future courses in Canvas.
