Safety Leadership Series - Coming June 1
Have you recently taken on the role of "safety" at your company? Whether you come from the office or field, transitioning into a safety position can be challenge. Hear from OSHA on what they expect to find on jobsites and from safety professionals who recently transitioned into safety roles from the field. Attendees will:
- Learn what OSHA looks for on jobsites.
- Leave with a safety check-list for ensuring your team is following safety measures.
- Learn how to conduct safety talks with your team.
- Gain a valuable peer network to assist with growth in their position.

April General Luncheon: Supply Chain Panel Discussion
Members gathered on April 20th for an insightful panel discussion about supply chain issues and delays in the construction industry and creative solutions to solve those challenges. The panel discussion was facilitated by Mike Schiff with Andrews Myers, P.C., and featured panelists Lyle Coston with Chamberlin Roofing & Waterproofing, and Brian White with E.E. Reed Construction.
ASA Members Participate in Crew Leadership Training
In April, the ASA-Houston Chapter hosted a two-day Crew Leadership training program at the MEMCO Office Training Room. The highly immersive two-day program was instructed by Darryl Samuels of D. Samuels & Associates, who taught students skills to critically think through project and people problems, while building valuable leadership skills. Attendees also learned effective leadership skills on the jobsite, business structures and construction industry issues, team building skills, safety on the jobsite, project planning, and more!
ASA Members Network with Butler Cohen Design + Build
On Thursday, April 27th, ASA Members and representatives from Butler Cohen Design + Build met for the April Schmooze and Mingle at Kirby Ice House – Memorial. Butler Cohen reps spoke with members about work opportunities and upcoming projects. It was a great turn out!
