Dear Friend,
As we move through August, I'm pleased to share some exciting updates in the life of the Mission with you.
Firstly, last week we celebrated Homelessness Week, a critical time for raising awareness and advocating for those in our community who are experiencing and at risk of experiencing homelessness. At Parramatta Mission, we are reaffirming our commitment to supporting individuals facing this crisis, particularly through our Meals Plus program, which continues to provide vital services and support.
Our Community Hub Day which kicked off Homelessness week saw over 25 social services such as housing, Centrelink, Legal aid, Uniting Outreach and the likes provide their services on site directly to our guests which meant they could get the assistance they needed immediately in a safe environment.
A huge thank you to all the services who joined us on the day and my team, in particular Jenny and Paul, who pulled it all together.
In other news, we are making great progress on the renovations at our facilities. These improvements will enhance our ability to serve the community more effectively and create a more welcoming environment for those who rely on our services. It is looking power and we cant wait to show you the finished product in person (watch this space).
Finally, I'm excited to announce the launch of our new website! This has been a long time coming and has finally arrived. The updated site will provide easier access to information about our programs, events, and ways to get involved. We hope it will serve as a valuable resource for both our clients and supporters.
