Today’s wholesome ‘Yesterday’s Australia’ segment is brought to you by member, @Marj53. Here’s what they had to say, ‘I remember growing up in the 50s. We didn't have much. At one stage while my pop was alive and living with us, us 4 kids all slept in a double bed. 2 boys down 1 end and 2 girls up the other end. Pop loved gardening with flowers out the front of the house and the backyard filled with fruit and vegetables. Fondly remember raiding his peas and raspberries. Don't know if he ever knew though. I think we should all try and get back to growing our own veggies.’
Oh, @Marj53! I have such similar memories myself. I’m one of 3 and my older brother, younger sister, and I used to share a double bed whenever we stayed at our grandparents (which was only once a week or so) but I have such fond and funny memories of all 3 of us being in bed laughing (or fighting, of course) because of something happening. In fact, we actually broke the bed slats once, we completely snapped 2 of them in half 😂 As you can imagine, Nan and Pop were not happy with us! Ah, to be a kid again! Thank you so much for sharing this with us, @Marj53.
