Hey, hey it’s Saturday! And welcome to what I (Maddie) am hoping is a far more relaxing day compared to yesterday. Let me paint a picture for you all: As I am writing this newsletter, it’s 8pm on Friday evening and I’ve been frantically checking my computer waiting to see whether the major global outage of ‘Cloudstrike’ has been fixed so I can write, build and get this newsletter to you on time – And I cannot help but think, how did the entire world get this reliant on a single piece of technology? Planes have been grounded, supermarkets unable to take payment, restaurants having to close. How did we get here? And more importantly, how do we avoid instances like these? I’d love to hear your thoughts, especially when it comes to technology ruling the roost…
Please know, as I sit at my desk with a glass of red wine (sorry, I had to) working trying not to let any of you down, that this newsletter might be far from perfect today. If there are any errors, feel free to blame ‘Cloudstrike’ or I guess my glass of red wine…😉 But members, I am only human and if you don’t laugh, you’ll cry! Now, enough rambling about global outages, let’s take a look at the answer to yesterday’s riddle, but before we do, I think we all need a reminder of what it was:
As I walked along the path, I saw something with four fingers and one thumb, but it was not flesh, fish, bone, or fowl. What is it?
The correct answer is… ‘glove’! If you got the answer correct, check out your shout-out! It’s now time to peek into the ‘What Would the Grandkids Say?’ vault. Today’s word is 'snatched', which means extremely good or fashionable. For example, you can say, ‘I love your outfit. You're looking snatched!’
