A Summer of Engagement: UAE Deepens State-level Partnerships

From coast to coast and throughout the summer, UAE partnerships at the state level are flourishing. These growing localized ties, underscore the depth and vibrancy of the UAE-US relationship and reflect a shared and broad-based commitment to innovation, economic growth, and cross-cultural exchange.

Most recently, Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders visited the UAE to advance UAE-Arkansas ties. Her visit included meetings with senior UAE officials to discuss collaboration in sectors such as aerospace, advanced tech and manufacturing — areas where both the Natural State and the UAE are seeking new opportunities for growth. Gov. Sanders also participated in a fireside chat hosted by the U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council. Her visit highlighted the importance of international partnerships to create economic growth and job creation in the US.

Meanwhile, UAE Consul General Amna Almheiri led a delegation to Connecticut, meeting Governor Ned Lamont and participating in a roundtable with business leaders to strengthen commercial ties.

Earlier this summer, the UAE Embassy joined the Alaska Sustainable Energy Conference at the invitation of Governor Mike Dunleavy, building on his earlier visit to Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week. During the conference, the Embassy’s Head of Energy, Environment and Water Initiatives Hussein El Gaafary delivered remarks highlighting how the UAE’s leadership in energy innovation and Alaska’s natural resources can strengthen both regions’ energy sectors.

As part of the New Jersey Gulf Arab Mission, Governor Phil Murphy led a high-level delegation to Abu Dhabi and Dubai, strengthening economic ties between the Garden State and the UAE. The Governor signed a landmark MOU between the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement and the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA), focused on cybersecurity and consumer protections.  

Earlier, Embassy diplomats, Commercial Counselor Saud Al Nowais and Head of Communications and Public Diplomacy Hessa Al Shuwaihi, also completed a successful mission to Utah, connecting with business and community leaders across key sectors and exploring new investment opportunities between the UAE and the Beehive State.

UAE Showcases Space Vision and Partnerships at Innovate Space Summit

HE Omran Sharaf, UAE Assistant Foreign Minister for Advanced Science and Technology, joined global leaders at the Innovate Space: Global Economic Summit, hosted by the Space Foundation and Amazon. Alongside international partners, he outlined the UAE’s vision for strengthening international cooperation in space and highlighted the many opportunities for global companies within the UAE’s burgeoning space sector, including through its Space Economic Zones.

The UAE’s momentum in space is powered by strong partnerships with leading US institutions, including NASA, the University of Colorado Boulder and the University of California, Berkeley. These collaborations underscore a shared commitment to driving innovation beyond our planet and shaping the next era of global space cooperation.
