NEWS ALERT

04 April 2023

Michelle’s arrival is imminent

Michelle Lee’s arrival in Far North Queensland is imminent.

This afternoon, after almost 240 days at sea, Michelle has spoken to say that she is excited to see land and is looking forward to her arrival.

Her journey started on the 8th of August last year in Ensenada Mexico with the task to row her boat, Australian Maid, to the east coast of Australia, solo, non-stop, and unassisted.

Nature provided its challenges along the way with Michelle and Australian Maid having to endure a combination of nine cyclones and hurricanes. This, on top of huge storms, winds and seas that challenged her for much of the journey.

Nature continues to have its say with Michelle now saying that she is rowing for a safe arrival, with Port Douglas her target as a possible arrival port.

If the weather and conditions remain in her favour, she is expected to arrive tomorrow Wednesday 5th April.
