SAVE THE DATE: PUMPKIN SMASH
Don’t throw it in the trash, bring it to the smash! Stop by the Village’s Pumpkin Smash event on Saturday, November 8th, from 12pm-3pm at Northbrook Court (northeast parking lot near Neiman Marcus). Test your aim with the pumpkin target toss, snap a festive photo, and enter the pumpkin seed guessing contest for a chance to win a prize! Costumes encouraged. Painted pumpkins can be composted - just make sure to remove decorations. This includes candles, yarn, stickers, googly eyes, plastic ears, and non-biodegradable materials. If you cannot attend, compost your pumpkins at home in your all-in organics bin.
National Drug Take Back Day
National Drug Take Back Day offers a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of unwanted or expired medications—no questions asked. Join communities across the country in helping prevent misuse and protecting the environment by cleaning out your medicine cabinets. Bring your unused prescription drugs to the Northbrook Police Department on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 10 a.m. for safe and anonymous disposal.

BerryDunn, a consultant with nationwide experience in local government strategic planning, is supporting this process by leading website engagement and in-person community forums to hear directly from community stakeholders.
Ways to Participate:
- Take the Survey: Visit the Strategic Plan website and provide your input by completing the online Community Survey.
- Add to the Idea Wall: Visit the Strategic Plan website and share your ideas and react to ideas posted by others at the online Ideas Wall.
- Attend a Community Forum: Attend one of the three in-person community forum events on November 12 and 13.

Halloween in Northbrook

Trick-or-treating hours in Northbrook are from 4pm to 8pm on Halloween. If you would like to alert trick-or-treaters of your household's participation, click here to download and print one of the Village's signs to display on your front door. If you don't have access to a printer, signs will be available for free pickup at Village Hall in October.
