Air Central Texas provides several resources to keep you "Air Aware" on how to improve air quality in our region.

Our Complaints Dashboard provides complaint data from TCEQ for each Austin MSA county and complaint type. You can also make an air quality complaint with TCEQ if you smell something unpleasant, see constant smoke, or have evidence about an environmental problem.

Example of Complaints Data

A graphic showing an example of 2024 TCEQ complaint data displayed on the Air Central Texas website. The data is displayed as a table showing Austin MSA county data for burning, odor, dust, and other air quality complaints. There are also four figures showing the disruption of complaints per county.

We've also created a Permit Map displaying facilities in the region who have open and closed TCEQ air quality permit action requests. This map helps residents and stakeholders participate in the permitting process for these types of applications. You can find the eComments link to submit a comment, request a public meeting, or request a contested case hearing online.

You can also sign up for AQI Alerts that update you on days forecast to have high ozone or fine particulate matter levels that could be considered unhealthy for sensitive groups. If you want to share this information on social media or your website, you can find AQI graphics in our ACT Toolkit.
