Teacher Spotlight: Kate Livson and San Leandro High School

Kate Livson has taught for 10 years and is currently teaching Forensic Science and the Career Choices series at San Leandro High School. Her passion for teaching and her students shows in all she does.  

"They've got their 10-Year Plan and all their answers, and it gives an opportunity for students to practice interview skills...and they go do it,” she explains about their mock interview practices. “They're so scared and timid, and every single one of them comes out of that interview with a huge smile on their face, and they're so excited to have done something so adult."

According to GreatSchools, the preparation and hard work shows in their graduation and ACT college readiness rate, which ranks higher than the state average.
