Resolutions Aren’t Just for the New Year
As we start a new year, many of us outline New Year's resolutions as a way of creating positive change, finding new direction, or increasing motivation. Which explains why there are so many tips circulating about setting and sticking to goals, including a recent Education Week piece from Dr. Angela Duckworth and an interesting story from NPR.
With the Career Choices series, you have a great tool for helping students see goal setting as an everyday opportunity, not just a once-a-year event. The coursework gives students a proven process for creating meaningful goals, including strategies delivered in Chapter 8 for making sure those goals are measurable and achievable.

North Point Academy Inspires Students With Independent Study
North Point Academy in Grass Valley, California, holds all of their classes via online independent study, but that hasn’t stopped students from learning about the importance of planning for their futures with the Career Choices series program.
"It’s really an essential program to show students what that all looks like—how to plan for college and that they can even go to college,” said Janet Mason, a teacher at North Point Academy (2022 Career Choices Silver Medal Winner).
