Welcome to InFocus, December 22Throughout the year we've achieved some great success. We've grown our property portfolio to more than £1.9 billion of assets and over 900,000 square metres. That equates to 41% of the Government's office portfolio. We've also supported civil servants to become more connected than ever before by deploying interoperability products across 85,000 square metres. However, we are aware we have areas to improve on, and your engagement with our regular client satisfaction surveys is allowing us to understand how we can better support you.
Yvette Greener, Client Director
Occupancy Monitoring: watching you, or supporting you?Occupancy monitoring has evolved into a key source for property insights and data-backed decision making that is allowing work spaces to better support civil servants. We look at the role of occupancy monitoring within property technology and the powerful data sets it provides for better-informed, strategic decision making at macro and micro levels. Supporting our clients to keep energy costs downWe implement a range of products and initiatives to minimise energy usage such as procuring electricity from renewal sources, upgrading lighting, heating ventilation and air conditioning, as well as installing solar photovoltaic (solar panels). And we design in initiatives as early as possible, such as decarbonised power supplies from the construction stage. Procuring for best value and service deliveryThe Workplace Services Transformation Programme continues procuring for best value to ensure we obtain the right outcomes for you on a number of ongoing procurement's, including; Facilities Management, Performance Partner and FM Digital Platform programmes.
Strengthening our data-driven approachTwo recent contract awards are equipping us with strong data to enable better informed decision making. This ensures our properties operate more efficiently and save costs across our office portfolio, while continuing to create great places to work.
Peterborough Hub achieves practical completionWe've reached another major milestone at our first new build Hub in Peterborough, Quay House, by completing the Cat B phase alongside our contractor Overbury and our strategic partners, Atkins and AECOM.

The project will bring the building in line with the Government Workplace Design Guide and provide a range of different work settings, including a Business Events Centre. It will also deliver improvements to the heating, ventilation and air conditioning across the building.

Have you spent time at our Birmingham Hub? Tell us what you think…Our Birmingham Hub at 23 Stephenson Street has now been occupied for one year! Now is a great time to tell us about your experience when using or visiting the Hub. On Tuesday 22 November, we launched the post-occupancy Leesman survey to gather your feedback on what’s working well for you, and things we can change to better support you. The survey is open to everyone who has visited the Hub whether it’s your usual place of work, you’re a frequent visitor or you’ve just popped in for a day or an hour. If you have teams based at the Hub please share the survey with them too. The survey closes Friday 16 December. This is a great opportunity for all of our customers in Stephenson Street to have their say and support us to continue creating great places to work. |
