Fact of the day
Why are paintings of medieval babies so odd?
If you've taken a stroll through the medieval exhibits in museums, you may have noticed the odd depictions of babies from that time period. This is because most paintings in the Medieval age were of Biblical subjects. So, people wanted their babies to conform to the artistic standards established by portrayals of baby Jesus.
