NEWS UPDATE31 May 2024 Publishers noteI’m not going to lie. I collected so many story opportunities over my ten days in South East Queensland during the conferences and show that I’m not sure where to start. Thank you to everyone who took the time to chat and share your news, passion, and information. I will get back to everyone I promised I would, and if I don’t, please let me know. At the time of writing, I have only been home for a day and I can’t stop reflecting on the marine industry journey I had the privilege of taking. It all started on Monday of last week with the ASMEX Welcome Reception, that was the entree to a wonderful conference. It was followed by the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show with all the fanfare we have become accustomed to. To wrap up the ten days, I was back in Brisbane for Marinas24, which, like the first two events, did not disappoint. It all wrapped up (for me at least) with the “Superior Soiree at the Howard Smith Wharves,” which in itself had a number of surprises. More on that in Marine Business News soon. These events don’t come together magically. They are the result of much hard work and effort. I congratulate David Good, CEO of the Australian Marine Exports (AIMEX), Superyacht Australia (SA) and the Australian Commercial Marine Group (ACMG), and his team for delivering ASMEX 2024; Johan Hasser, GM of Mulpha Events and his team for delivering the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS); and Suzanne Davies CEO at Marina Industries Association (MIA) and her team for delivering Marinas24. I equally congratulate the Association Directors who, for at least ASMEX and Marinas24, supported and entrusted their teams to do what they had to do, to achieve the outstanding results they did. For those who may be interested, we have published a photo library of the Sanctuary Cove Boat show. You will find the link at the bottom of the wrap-up story, or simply visit the “Photo Library” on our website.
