Friday Edition
Hello there, beautiful people! Happy Friday! Ah, there's nothing like waking up to a brand new day and realising it's the weekend tomorrow. I (Vella) am doing a little happy dance over here! Though for our retired members, every day feels like the weekend! Lucky bunch. 😉
What's everyone got planned for today? I’m going to watch The Crown on Netflix (if you haven't seen it, you're missing out!). I've been waiting for the new season to drop for months, and the cast is phenomenal (shout-out to our very own Elizabeth Debicki, of course). Also, I think I'm going to finally open the poetry book published by our very own April that I bought five months ago... oops! (I know, I know, I'm the worst!) I think I'm not the only one who's guilty of hoarding books and then never actually reading them or just waiting for the right moment…
Anyway, enough about me! Let's move on to our third and final riddle of the week!
There is a clerk at the butcher shop, he is five feet ten inches tall, and he wears size 13 sneakers. What does he weigh?
Ooh, this is a good one! We're sure you'll have fun with this one. As always, if you think you know the answer, head over to the riddle masters thread here. We'll give you a shout-out in tomorrow's newsletter if you get it right! How generous of us, eh?

Today, we have a lovely memory from @LadyG63. ‘I am so grateful for being born in the late 1950s when life was so much better. For Mum, who was the unsung hero for being a stay-at-home mum and appreciated very much when her children arrived home from school for the long-awaited chat of the day, which gave us security and peace of mind going to bed at night. For her routine that was a priority for her sanity with eight children and gave us the certainty of meal times. Thank you to Dad, who was the best father for his clever and talented
personality, who excelled at work without the credit of a university education but with incredible creativity from boyhood. For the fun times before a new baby arrived home for the change of routine. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you to both of you from a very grateful daughter who has memories of a wonderful bygone era!’
Aren’t mums amazing? They really are the unsung heroes of society! Thank you so much for sharing this gorgeous memory with us, @LadyG63. It sounds like you had incredible parents.
