Top 10 of 2025 - Court of Appeals

Dear TeamChild Community,

This holiday season, we are counting down our top 10 moments of the year. Our next highlight was arguing a case in Washington's Court of Appeals.

TeamChild represents clients at every judicial level—from school discipline hearings to state administrative hearings, in Superior Court, and recently in the Court of Appeals. Most young people do not have access to an attorney to help challenge a legal decision at the Court of Appeals. TeamChild attorneys brought a case on behalf of a young person to raise important legal claims related to the fairness of the process that transferred them from a youth prison to an adult prison. We are grateful for the collaboration with Seattle University in the School of Law’s Center for Civil Rights and Critical Justice on this case.

While we do not know the court's decision yet, we are proud we were able to support youth in this case and many others. Our courts become truly fair and just only when they are open and accessible to everyone. We couldn't do this important work without your support.  We invite you to consider making a gift to ensure that TeamChild will continue to advocate for the rights of youth. We hope you continue follow along as we count down our top 10 of 2025!

Thank you,

TeamChild Board and Staff
