Faculty and staff colleagues,

I am excited to share that next week, three outstanding finalists for the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs position will visit campus for in-person interviews. These finalists were selected after weeks of careful vetting and several rounds of interviews by the Provost Search Committee.

During their time on campus, the finalists will meet with select groups, including faculty, staff, campus leadership, the Spiritans, and members of the Board of Directors. These visits will help us learn more about each candidate’s leadership approach and academic vision, and they’ll give each finalist the opportunity to see Duquesne firsthand: our mission, our culture, and the people who make this University such a special place to work and learn.

Faculty and staff will have the opportunity to meet with each candidate during closed-door forums in the Power Center Ballroom:

  • Forum 1: April 7, 9-9:45 a.m., Power Center Ballroom A
  • Forum 2: April 9, 9-9:45 a.m., Power Center Ballroom C
  • Forum 3: April 10, 9-9:45 a.m., Power Center Ballroom A/B

If you’d like to attend a session, please register using this form. You may register for one or more sessions — please select all forums you plan to attend on the registration form.

The finalists’ CVs will be shared just prior to each session, and you will also have an opportunity to share your thoughts on each candidate with the Search Committee through a confidential survey.

Confidentiality during these campus visits is paramount. Because the finalists currently hold senior roles at other institutions, your discretion in keeping their names – and the substance of your conversations with them – within the Duquesne community is vital. For those attending a forum, please complete this confidentiality pledge and bring a printed copy to each session you registered for.

I hope you, your families and loved ones have a safe, restful and joyous Easter holiday. I am looking forward to you meeting this fantastic group of finalists, and I am confident that with your continued engagement, we will find the right person to lead our academic unit during this exciting new chapter in Duquesne’s storied history.

Kind regards,

David
