Little fella
Today’s picture is thanks to member Gratty G. They posted this photo in our photography forum along with the caption, “This photo was taken after my husband and I hadn’t seen each other for nine months because of Covid lockdowns etc. We went down to the Margaret River area for three days together. This little fella was hopping around while we were having lunch.”
Oh my goodness! This photo is absolutely stunning! However, no one here at SDC knows what this bird is called. Do you know what kind of bird this is? Thanks, @Gratty, for sharing this photo with us!

Ikebana is the Japanese art of flower arrangement. It is also known as kadō (“way of flowers”). The tradition dates back to the Heian period when floral offerings were made at altars. Later, flower arrangements were instead used to adorn a traditional Japanese home's tokonoma (alcove). In contrast to the western habits of casually placing flowers in a vase, ikebana aims to bring out the inner qualities of flowers and other live materials and express emotion.
