Thursday Edition
Good morning members, and welcome to another Thursday edition of our newsletter! We hope you’re well and ready for another day of fun and games. We have a whole bunch of things in store for you today. Have you grabbed your cuppa yet? No? Well, do that first. We'll wait. Back? Great! Let's get into today's activities, shall we?
First things first, it’s time to give you all the answer to yesterday’s tricky riddle. For those of you who don’t remember, the riddle goes:
What is always coming but never arrives?
The answer is tomorrow! This was a good one, eh? As expected, a ton of you got the answer correct! And you know what that means, right folks? You get a shout-out! So stick around, and you’ll find a shout-out waiting for you at the end of the newsletter.
Next on the agenda for today, it’s time to share with you a Fascinating Fact!
Did you know that Japan has a phone to call the dead? It’s called the 'wind phone’, an unconnected telephone booth in Ōtsuchi, Iwate Prefecture, where visitors can hold one-way conversations with deceased loved ones. It was created by a man named Itaru Sasaki in 2010 to help him cope with his cousin's death. It was opened to the public in 2011 and has since received over 30,000 visitors. I can just imagine how emotional those conversations must be. We hope this provides some measure of comfort to those who use it. How's that for a Thursday fact?
Before we get into today’s news, we want to ask a quick favour. We’ve been considering introducing a ‘premium SDC membership’ option for quite some time now. We’ve put together a small survey and want to know if you were to become a premium member, what would you want to see from us? We want to make it clear that a premium SDC membership would not change what we offer for free. We have always been free to join and will remain that way. We’d love to hear your feedback - the good, the bad, and the ugly. Be honest! There are no hard feelings because, at the end of the day, we wouldn’t be here without you lot. You can fill out the survey here! Please note: This is just a survey. Filling it out will in no way commit you to a premium membership!
