First things first, it’s time to give you all the answer to yesterday’s riddle. For those of you who don’t remember, the riddle goes:
What runs around the whole yard without moving?
Well? The answer is a fence (we’ll also take ‘Boundary’ or 'Perimeter', which a few of you answered with)! That was a tricky one eh? Well, it seems it wasn’t as difficult for you as it was for us, since a ton of you managed to crack it. For those who got the correct answer, you’ll find a shoutout waiting for you down below!
Next up, as we do every Thursday, it’s time to share a Fascinating Fact with you all!
Did you know that one of our favourite condiments, tomato sauce, was once sold as a medicine? Initially, 'ketchup' (as it was originally known) was a concoction of fish or mushrooms. However, in 1834, American physician Dr John Cooke Bennet added tomatoes. He claimed this new recipe could cure diarrhea, indigestion, jaundice, and rheumatism because the tomatoes introduced crucial vitamins and antioxidants. He later sold the recipe in the form of ‘tomato pills.’ As numerous people began to sell tomato ketchup as a remedy, the market for its medicinal uses reportedly collapsed in the 1850s, but it stuck around as a popular condiment. How interesting is that?
