Monday Edition
Good morning, members! We’re very happy to be here in your inbox, bright and early on a Monday morning. We hope you’re happy to see us! Remember, if you aren’t you can also unsubscribe at any time, or, if you don’t want to hear from us daily you can always change your subscription preferences so that you only receive one newsletter a week. There are no hard feelings, we promise. 😉
Now it’s Monday, and you know what that means? Yes! Time for the first riddle of the week. Today’s riddle is quite challenging, but I (Maddie) feel like that’s a great way to kick-start the week. A big thanks to member Dennis R. for sharing this riddle with us.
At night they come without being fetched, and by day they are lost without being stolen.
See! I told you it was a challenging one. If you think you know the answer to this riddle, post it here on our forum. If you get the answer correct, you’ll get a well-deserved shout-out in tomorrow’s newsletter. How generous of us, eh?
So, what’s happening across Australia and around the world today?
-
These ‘old phones’ are now worth a fortune, with some models selling for up to $4000. Do you have one laying around your house?
-
An Aussie woman has been criticised online after she complained about a $1000 fine she believes she shouldn’t have to pay. Do you think she should pay every dollar?
-
A supermarket trolley ‘of the future’ is here and it is leaving shoppers divided. Do we really need technology like this to replace more jobs?
-
A boss has warned his staff to ‘get back to work’ after 20 of his workers won the $53 million Powerball Jackpot! Talk about luck, eh?
-
In a horrific act of ableism, a woman was forced to crawl off a plane after Jetstar tried to charge her to use the wheelchair they provided. How awful is this?
-
An outrageous detail on this receipt has left diners stunned with the customers saying it ‘ruined’ their dinner and it was ‘very sneaky’.
-
Oh dear! We all know technology isn’t straightforward, but these are some funny mistakes we’ve all made at one point… Click here for a good
laugh.
-
Australian dieticians have revealed the two major nutrient deficiencies seen in women and apparently ‘without them, you’ll feel like you’ve been hit by a bus’.
-
Fancy walking onto a flight to discover your seats don’t exist? That’s exactly what happened to these customers, and let’s just say, I’m glad I’m not them!
-
Oh, this joke made me laugh big time, I think I might have to get myself one of these. 😉 Click here to read the joke! A big thanks to member @Skipton for this laugh!
-
And finally, this story is quite horrifying but it’s a great example of why you should never flash your lights to warn other drivers about the cops…
And that’s a wrap of today’s news, ladies and gents! But thankfully, it’s not the end of today’s newsletter just yet! We have plenty of good stuff in store for you below, including a really interesting trivia question (we hope you know your coat of arms!) and a very funny joke, which is also a true story, thanks to member, @mOiOz!
