Magnet Thanks and Giving

Today is the last day to donate to the Magnet Council's food drive. They are partnering with ABC 13 for the Share Your Holidays food drive. The food will go to the FBISD Share Your Dreams program and the East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry. Drop off your donations in boxes on your unit or in the white boxes in the lobbies of Main, Sweetwater, MOB 3 and Brazos. Click here for more information.

GivingTuesday 2023

As we head into the holiday season, many of us make donations to help make the year ahead better for people in our community. This year, we want to show our support for one another by letting our co-workers know that we’ve got their backs.

As you may know, GivingTuesday is a global movement that inspires people to give to others and celebrate kindness. This GivingTuesday (Tuesday, Nov. 28), please consider donating to the Houston Methodist Employees Helping Employees Fund — a resource funded by employees for employees —which has helped many of our co-workers in times of crisis such as house fires, Hurricane Harvey and the Freeze of 2021.

Open Enrollment Continues

Open Enrollment ends this week, on Friday, Dec. 1. Make sure you make your selections. The HR Hub has this Quick Start Guide to go over new changes. You can also listen to a recorded webinar explaining what's new in your benefits this year. 

DNV Survey Window Approaching

This week marks HMSL's mock DNV survey. It is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 29 and Thursday, Nov. 30. This accreditation is important because it demonstrates our dedication to our patients’ safety and care.  Click here for more information.

Thanksgiving has come and gone and all eyes are on the December holidays! If you are already planning things to do with the entire family while school is out, we have the perfect event! LGBTQ+ Allies ERG Hosts World AIDS Day Program

In recognition of Dec. 1 as World AIDS Day, all employees are invited to join LGBTQ+Allies and featured speaker Maggie White, FNP, from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, for a discussion on the latest available strategies in HIV/AIDS prevention and health care for the LGBTQ+ community. Maggie brings 12 years of experience in community health and HIV primary care and research and is certified by the American Academy of HIV Medicine as an HIV specialist. She currently serves as the HIV specialist at the Wellness Bar by Legacy Community Health. You can attend the event in person at HMH Walter Tower in the Columbia room. Attend the livestream here. 

HR Benefits and Moms ERG Host Planning Ahead for College Webinar

Join a live webinar from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, to discover the college support services available to you. The webinar is brought to you by HR Benefits, Moms of Methodist ERG and Bright Horizons. This will be an interactive and informative session with specific support for 9th-12th graders. Highlights include help with building a preliminary list of colleges, how to get essay edits, and more. A former college admissions officer will answer any of your college-related questions and provide more details on the Bright Horizon's College Coach benefit. Join the Zoom meeting. Note: To make this experience the most beneficial for you, answer the two questions on this form before the session.
