Saturday Edition
Good morning, members, and welcome to the weekend! We hope you’re all feeling well and are ready for a relaxing two days. We know we are! What are your plans for today? Are you doing anything exciting? I (Vella) am going to spend my day resting and catching up on some sleep (I’ve been feeling a bit under the weather lately). Of course, that rest includes binging a few of my favourite Netflix shows too. Ah, the joys of a Saturday!
Speaking of favourite shows, I want to thank you all for sending in your movies and TV shows recommendations in our Movies and TV series recommendation thread. I loved seeing what everyone has been watching! As expected, you all have great taste! There are too many good ones to list, but Outlander and Grace & Frankie caught my eye! I can’t wait to get started on watching them. If you have any recommendations, please do share them with us!
But before we get too comfortable, there’s something we need to take care of first. You guessed it… The answer to yesterday’s riddle! So, what was it again?
Two mothers and two daughters go shopping. They have $21, which they split equally between them. How is this possible?
So? Did you get it? The answer is that there are only three people. One of the mothers is also a daughter, so: a grandmother, a mother and a daughter! They each get $7! This one had us fooled. But of course, as always, a fair few of you got it correct! So, if you did, give yourself a pat on the back and head further down in the newsletter, where you’ll find a shout-out just for you!
Now, let’s move on to our next segment of the day, ‘What Would the Grandkids Say’. Today, we are taking a look at the term ‘IFYP’. IFYP stands for ‘I Feel Your Pain' and is commonly used on the social media platform Twitter. It’s a way of saying you know how someone else is feeling because you have experienced the same thing. For example, if your grandchild is going through a breakup, you could say, ‘IFYP, I’ve been there too.’ So, next time your grandchild is going through a tough time, remember to tell them ‘IFYP’.
