SPROUT Mentorship Update
SPROUT Mentorship Mentee Registration NOW OPEN!
Registration for SPROUT Mentorship is NOW OPEN! This program consists of monthly 1-1 mentorship with an upper-year New College student and runs from September to April. Your mentor will answer all your questions about navigating through your first year and can point you to the right resources. The program also offers opportunities to meet other mentees in the program.

Academic Resources
New College Registrar's Office
The New College Registrar’s Office is the centre for information and advice of all kinds. From admission to graduation, students are encouraged to make it their home base by asking any and all questions and concerns to the friendly and knowledgeable registrarial staff (online and in-person). The range of supports and services offered by the New College registrar’s Office includes:
- Course enrolment and registration + Confirmation of enrolment letters and forms
- Program enrolment
- Guidance on Faculty rules and regulations
- Degree requirements and planning
- grant and scholarship applications, and
- appeals or petitions for special consideration
- Financial aid and awards
- Petitions and requests for special consideration, and more!
Reminder: the First Year Academic Hub on Quercus has been prepared for you by the New College Registrar’s Office and contains vital information for newly admitted students. This is also where you can book academic advising appointments or attend a weekly drop-in academic advising session. Log in to Quercus to access the Hub.

Learning Strategist
Did you know we have a Learning Strategist onsite?. A Learning Strategist meets with students one-on-one in appointments and offers students workshops to learn tangible tools and skills in the following areas: time management, exam preparation, assignment planning, effective notetaking, motivation, and procrastination. These tools and skills are provided to students for their success in university.

Writing Centre
The New College Writing Centre provides one-on-one instruction in the various forms of academic writing and oral presentations required in your courses and help students in their writing at any stage of development, from brainstorming and planning to revising a draft. The Writing Centre will NOT “proof-read” papers but will teach students to identify and correct problems of grammar and syntax. Appointments can be booked and done online.
D.G. Ivey Library
The D.G. Ivey Library contains over 25,000 volumes in circulating and reference collections in the social sciences and other fields.. In addition, the library contains two computer labs and two group study rooms readily available for New College students. The library also offers other services including technology information sessions and 3 cents black and white printing. Many tools (including laptops and chargers) can be loaned out from the library.
Accessibility Services
Accessibility Services facilitates the inclusion of students with disabilities into all aspects of university life. Services are provided to students with a documented disability; be it physical, sensory, a learning disability or a mental health condition, temporary or long-term. This includes test and exam accommodations, note-taking services, liaising with other units and more.
