Dear colleagues,

As we step into a busy and inspiring season for the AEC community, in this newsletter we are delighted to share a range of exciting developments and opportunities that reflect our shared mission to shape the future of higher music education in Europe and beyond.

We begin by highlighting a proud and symbolic achievement: the AEC Choir's visit to Osaka, Japan, performing as part of Expo 2025. Under the theme “Designing Voices for Our Lives”, this special ensemble of students from across our member institutions is giving voice to the artistic excellence and international collaboration that defines our network.

We are pleased to launch calls for new members to join the working groups of EPARM (European Platform for Artistic Research in Music) and PJP (Pop and Jazz Platform). These groups help shape the direction of two of AEC’s most innovative platforms, and we warmly encourage interested colleagues to get involved and contribute to their ongoing development.

We also invite your participation in an important survey on the digitisation of Erasmus procedures. As digital tools continue to transform the landscape of international mobility, your insights will help us understand current practices and identify opportunities for greater efficiency and user-friendliness across the sector.

Lastly, registration is now open for the International Relations Coordinators (IRC) Meeting 2025. This flagship event brings together international officers and IRCs from across the AEC membership to share expertise, discuss policy trends, and strengthen transnational partnerships. We encourage early registration to ensure participation in what promises to be a dynamic and forward-looking gathering.

Thank you, as always, for your ongoing engagement and commitment to the AEC. Together, we continue to raise the voice of higher music education across Europe and the world.

Best wishes,

Deborah Kelleher, AEC President
